On 26 January 2008, the Chinese Ambassador H.E.Ren Xiaoping celebrated the Chinese New Year with nearly 600 Chinese nationals in Namibia and some from South Africa.

    Amb. Ren extended her new year's greetings to all the guests and said that in the new year, the Chinese community in Namibia shall continue to do business in line with Namibia's laws and regulations, respect the local customs and culture, and live a harmonious life  with the Namibian citizens, with a view to further  promoting China-Namibia friendship.
