The Government of the Republic of Namibia has been following recent developments on the unilateral decision by the leader of Taiwan,"ceasing the function of the National Unification Council and the application of the National Unification Guidelines, which may infringe upon the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China. The Government of Namibia is concerned that such unilateral action may also disturb peace and stability in the region.

In this context, the Government of the Republic of Namibia reiterates its full support for the One-China Policy, and reaffirms that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China includes Taiwan, as recognized by the international community?

The Government of Namibia equally supports the efforts made by the Chinese Government and people to safeguard their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to achieve the reunification of China.
